The new era formally inaugurated in 2004, Sanjeevani Ayurveda was originally founded by Dr. S. Velupillai in 1939. Prior to that, our ancestors practised Ayurveda in the true, traditional path; the light of knowledge has since been handed down over generations. One of our respected forefathers was Chief Physician to the Kingdom of Travancore.

From informal, simple and humble settings we thought to expand our vision and care, without compromising on ideals, to a wider realm by setting up a centre and an e-com web site for the convenience of many of our friends and patients worldwide.

By engaging our philosophy to build this site we hope ensure the promotion and practise of pure Ayurveda in all consciousness.

So it was after prolonged discussion, and deep thought that we resolved to lovingly create an ethical site to apply and propagate Ayurveda, faithful to its founding principles, with all its grandeur intact.

SAF Clinic

At Sanjeevani Ayurveda, we still hold true to the treatment ethics laid out by our forefathers.Traditionally physicians used to let patients stay with them at their own homes, if they were being cared for as “In-Patients”.  This was to ensure a totality of care that encompassed not just the treatment, but daily routine, diet, exercise, mental & spiritual care, it also meant that the physician could ensure that the patient was either cured or capable of continuing the regime of care that was required before being discharged. So at Sanjeevani:

  • We only take a Maximum of Two In-patients at a time
  •  We encourage family members or carers to accompany the patient wherever possible, this ensures that the treatments and any further care needs can be fully understood by all concerned
  • The Clinic is half an hour from the golden beaches of Kovalam, 8kms from Trivandrum city
  • All modern facilities are available Any clinical condition may be considered for treatment, Specialities include chronic and genetic diseases, some common ailments we may be able to help with are:Arthritis / Mental Health / Neurological conditions / Respiratory problems / Skin problems including Psoriasis / Stroke All admissions will only be confirmed after receiving up to date, relevant referrals and reports from the Family Doctor or Consultant whose care the patient is currently under. 

Carers

Accompanying Carers are also able (under full agreement of all concerned), to have a rest while at the centre so that they can take a Well Earned Break while the patient is admitted for treatment.

Geriatric Care

 The concept of rejuvenation and re-energizing an individual with vigour and strength is unique to Ayurveda. Probably Ayurveda is the only medical wisdom that gives a holistic approach to care of the elderly, with contributions to every aspect of well-being for the aged. There is a vast knowledge and as yet untapped wisdom in the approach of rejuvenation and treatment in Ayurveda, helping to impart health and vitality particularly in the elderly and people suffering from chronic and genetic diseases. SAF is determined to improve the quality of life of all those in need and specifically the elderly for a healthy and contented life.

This advisory facility is provided nationally and internationally.

Preparations

The uniqueness of Ayurveda is that the administration of remedies is totally individualistic in nature. Hence, treatments will be prepared according to the condition of the patient. If not acquired through the leading Ayurvedic Pharmacies in the country; most other medicines we prepare ourselves, so that the quality, safety, and efficacy of the medicines are assure
